To begin, we gathered our materials
2 layers of baked cake
a lot of icing!
Wilton piping tip 2D
piping bag
First, allow your cake layers to cool so that the icing will not melt! I used red velvet cake <3
Next, prepare your favorite icing or buy pre-made icing from the store. If you buy the icing pre-made you may have to stiffen it up by adding some powered sugar. You want your icing to be thick so what you pipe will hold it's shape :) This is cream cheese icing.
Then, ice the bottom layer of cake and place the next layer on top
After you do that, lightly ice the whole cake. It does not have to be pretty yet!!
Once you have iced the whole cake you will fill a piping bag with a tip 2D with the icing of your choice.
Hold the bag perpendicular to the cake, squeeze the bag with medium pressure and move your hand counter clockwise. This will create rose swirl.
If the icing becomes to runny you may have to put the icing and the cake in the refrigerated to allow the icing to set up. For best results, store the cake in a cool, dry area.
This is a simple way to decorate an elegant cake for any occasion! It's looks even better in person :)
